Activities

Camping

Camping

Camping sites are primitive.

Vault restrooms and limited shade ramadas are located at:
The Quarry, The Cove, Main Street, Holly Road, and Hidden Valley. Pay showers are available only at Holmes Camp and Ranger Station Road. Bills are now accepted. No quarters.

Camping at the north east corner of the park near Salton City is popular among residents of Riverside and San Bernadino Counties that drive in through Palm Springs. San Diego county residents typically camp on the southern edge of the park along Highway 78.

Camping is not permitted at the Shell Reef, Devil's Slide, and Blow Sand Hill areas.

Toilets are located throughout the park including well off paved roads.

Dogs

Dogs

Dogs are permitted on leash. Dogs off leash are frequently lost in the park as a result of being frightened by the loud motor vehicles and/or illegal fireworks. I recommend putting a glow stick or LED headlight on your dog at night so that they can be easily spotted.

Motor Vehicles

Motor Vehicles

Street legal vehicles are permitted anywhere in the park. The Truckhaven area near Salton Sea is extremely popular among Jeep owners.

OHV

OHV
